Warrior Jar Shard Location
Where the talisman can drop — Alexander moves with his quest, and the earliest stop is Stormhill.
Quick Answer
Location: Wherever Iron Fist Alexander currently is — earliest on Stormhill in Limgrave
Nearest grace (earliest): Saintsbridge (earliest Stormhill stop). Kill Iron Fist Alexander before his quest ends to receive the drop.
Warrior Jar Shard is not in a chest or sold by a merchant. It drops when you kill Iron Fist Alexander before you finish his quest. He moves as the quest goes on, so the spot is wherever he is when you decide to end it.
Earliest stop: from Saintsbridge, head west and uphill toward Warmaster's Shack until you hear Alexander calling. He is stuck in the Stormhill slope. Talk first if you want the dialogue, then keep attacking until he dies — that early kill drops Warrior Jar Shard.
Later stops still drop the same talisman if you kill him there instead: Gael Tunnel, Redmane Castle during the festival, the cliff above Jarburg after Radahn, or the Mt. Gelmir lava bath near Seethewater Terminus.
Do not confuse this with the final Farum Azula duel. Finishing that friendly fight after the full quest awards Shard of Alexander (15%), not Warrior Jar Shard. Killing him early is what produces the 10% jar shard.

Warrior Jar Shard — earliest Stormhill drop
Wherever Iron Fist Alexander currently is — earliest on Stormhill in Limgrave
Earliest Warrior Jar Shard Location
The earliest reliable pickup is the first Stormhill meeting near Saintsbridge / Warmaster's Shack.
You do not need Radahn, Oil Pots, or Farum Azula if you only want Warrior Jar Shard.
Later Alexander stops also work — the drop does not change; you still give up Shard of Alexander.
How to Get the Warrior Jar Shard
Focus on the drop and the trade-off. For the full quest ending and Shard of Alexander, use that talisman's page instead.
⚠ Before You Get Warrior Jar Shard
Getting this talisman ends Alexander's quest early and locks Shard of Alexander (15% skill damage) for this playthrough. Compare both rewards before you kill him.
Step 1
Find Iron Fist Alexander
Meet him where he is in the quest. Earliest is Stormhill in Limgrave (west/uphill from Saintsbridge toward Warmaster's Shack). Later options include Gael Tunnel, Redmane, the Jarburg cliff after Radahn, or Mt. Gelmir lava — use the location table above if you are mid-quest.

Step 2
Catch him before the Farum ending
You can kill him at almost any stop while he is still alive and before you finish the Farum Azula duel. Optional chats and summons are not required — he only needs to be there.

Step 3
Kill Alexander
Attack until he dies. On the first Stormhill meeting he starts stuck in the ground — hit him free if needed, then finish him. At later stops he fights as a normal hostile NPC. Do not start the Farum Azula farewell duel if you want this 10% shard instead of the 15% ending.

How to Get Warrior Jar Shard After Radahn
Still need the shard after the festival? Alexander can still drop it — he just moves twice before Farum Azula.
After Radahn, find him stuck in the cliff above Jarburg in eastern Liurnia (south of the Artist's Shack / Carian Study Hall approach). Nearest grace: Jarburg.
If you want him free for dialogue first, craft Oil Pots from Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [17] (Abandoned Merchant in Siofra River, 1,000 runes). Throw an Oil Pot, heavy-attack him loose, then you can still kill him for Warrior Jar Shard.
If you spare him at Jarburg, he next bathes in lava near Seethewater Terminus on Mt. Gelmir — that stop also drops Warrior Jar Shard if you kill him there.
Either kill after Radahn still ends the quest and locks Shard of Alexander. Only the finished Farum Azula duel awards the 15% talisman instead.
Quest Consequence
On one normal playthrough you get one or the other — not both.
NG+ or a new journey can pick up the other reward later. You can also move extras between characters by trading, if your platform allows it.
Even if you own both, you can equip only one jar talisman at a time.
Warrior Jar Shard vs Shard of Alexander
Same job, different power, timing, and quest cost.
| Factor | Warrior Jar Shard | Shard of Alexander |
|---|---|---|
| Skill Damage Bonus | 10% | 15% |
| Effect | Boosts skill attack power | Greatly boosts skill attack power |
| How you get it | Earlier — kill Alexander mid-quest | Later — finish quest + Farum duel |
| Alexander Quest | Ends early | Complete quest |
| Earliest Availability | Limgrave (Stormhill) | Late game (Farum Azula) |
| Can Equip Together? | No | No |
| Best for | Getting the skill boost early | The stronger final version |
Shard of Alexander is the stronger skill talisman once you can finish the quest.
Warrior Jar Shard only wins when you want the effect now and accept losing the 15% ending.
If you already plan to take Alexander through Radahn, Jarburg, Gelmir, and Farum Azula, skip the early kill and take Shard of Alexander.
Can You Get Warrior Jar Shard and Shard of Alexander?
On one normal playthrough you choose one reward, not both.
Killing Alexander early drops Warrior Jar Shard and prevents Shard of Alexander on that journey.
Finishing the Farum Azula duel drops Shard of Alexander instead — you do not also receive Warrior Jar Shard from that ending.
Owning both usually means NG+, another character, or trading between saves. Even then you equip only one at a time.
Warrior Jar Shard Effect
What the talisman actually changes once it is equipped.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Effect | Boosts the attack power of skills |
| Skill attack boost | 10% |
| Weight | 0.9 |
| PvE | 10% skill attack power |
| PvP | 10% skill attack power |
| Stack with Shard of Alexander? | No |
The 10% applies to skill attack power — damaging hits from a weapon skill or Ash of War skill animation.
It does not raise ordinary light/heavy attacks, block damage, spell or incantation damage, or status buildup by itself.
Support skills that only apply a buff and deal no attack hit gain nothing while the buff is up; only skill hits are boosted.
What Does Warrior Jar Shard Boost?
What counts as a boosted skill hit, and what does not.
| Attack Type | Boosted? |
|---|---|
| Weapon Skills | Yes |
| Ashes of War damage | Yes — the skill portion of the ash |
| Normal attacks | No |
| Heavy attacks | No |
| Spells | No |
| Buff-only skills | Only if the skill itself deals attack damage |
Does Warrior Jar Shard Stack With Shard of Alexander?
Warrior Jar Shard and Shard of Alexander cannot be equipped together. They fill the same role.
Pair it with other damage talismans, body or aura buffs, and weapons that actually use skills — not with Shard of Alexander.
Is Warrior Jar Shard Worth It?
The real question is timing: early 10% now, or wait for the 15% quest ending.
Worth it if
- You specifically want a skill-damage talisman in Limgrave / early mid-game
- Your current build leans hard on weapon skills or Ashes of War
- You accept ending Alexander's quest and locking Shard of Alexander this journey
Skip it if
- You want Shard of Alexander later (15% and the full quest ending)
- You are already completing Alexander's quest on purpose
- You do not urgently need the early skill boost and can wait for Farum Azula
Early Game vs Late Game
Early game: Warrior Jar Shard is one of the strongest skill-damage talismans you can grab this early — if you accept the quest cost.
Late game: once Farum Azula is open and Alexander is alive through Gelmir, Shard of Alexander is the better jar talisman.
Best Uses for Warrior Jar Shard
Warrior Jar Shard pays off when your kit actually uses weapon skills and Ashes of War. Pure spellcasting or plain R1-only setups get little from it.
Skill-Focused Builds
Melee and hybrid skill builds want this more than pure tank or pure caster setups.
Quality, Dexterity, and Strength kits all benefit once their damage comes from skills — especially before you can finish Alexander's full route.
If you barely use skills, leave the slot for defense, stamina, or another build-defining talisman instead.
Best Weapons and Skills
- Moonveil
Transient Moonlight is the point of the weapon — the 10% applies to every skill wave.
- Rivers of Blood
Corpse Piler is a repeated skill string; the jar bonus multiplies those skill hits.
- Blasphemous Blade
Taker's Flames is a big skill hit that benefits cleanly from the talisman.
- Dark Moon Greatsword
Moonlight Greatsword shots are skill damage, not regular R1s.
Any Ash of War that spends FP on damaging thrusts, waves, stomps, or multi-hits gets the same 10% as unique skills.
Cast body or aura buffs first, then open with the skill — the talisman multiplies the skill hit, so FP spent on plain swings gets less value from this slot.
